Why ATM paper is different

Inside-wound on a 1" core — not the same as POS paper

Standard POS receipt paper is outside-wound — the paper feeds from the outside of the roll. ATM printers feed from the inside, which means the paper must be wound in the opposite direction on a 1" core. Loading outside-wound paper in an ATM will cause immediate jams and potential printer damage.

Longer rolls mean fewer reloads per ATM — reducing technician visits and downtime.
1" core is the ATM standard
All major ATM manufacturers — NCR, Diebold, Triton, Wincor — use the 1" core inside-wound format.
Width is the same — winding is different
ATM rolls are 3 1/8" wide — same as POS — but inside-wound. Always verify winding direction before ordering.
